Mrs. Dorothy Bell Chester, 80, of 1013 Fairfield Drive, Anderson, SC, passed away on October 30, 2021. She was born on September 8, 1941 to the late Raymond Glenn and the late Bertha Dawson Pascal.
Dorothy attended Westside High School. She was a longtime employee at Holiday Inn as a cook. She also worked at Mama Penns until her health declined. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and she also attended Mt. Olive Crusade Center.
Dorothy was a member of Women on the Move. She loved her family, watching Family Feud, and chewing Double Mint Gum.
She leaves to cherish loving memories to her daughters, Jacqueline Blackwell, Pamela Glenn, Tammy (William) Glenn, Carla Plumer, and April Glenn; sons, Rodney (Sheila) Glenn and Joe (Kathy) Chester; one sister, Bertha Freeman; fifteen grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Rudolph Johnson; a special niece and caretaker, Diane Patterson; and a host of other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Chester; sons, Gregory Glenn and Douglas Glenn; brothers, Theo Pascal, Richard Pascal, and her twin brother, Marcell Glenn; sisters, Frances Johnson, Irene Simpson, Willie Mae Battle, and Jeanette Pascal; sons-in-law, Russell Plumer and Dennis Blackwell; grandsons, Tyshune Glenn and Kenneth Glenn; and one great-grandson, Zi'Ricus Hull.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Mt. Olive Crusade Center. The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
