The Life Journey of Mrs. Doris Allen Dubose: Doris Sue Allen Dubose was born in Hartwell, GA to the late Julian Allen and Ada Mae Brown Allen on September 15, 1935. She returned to her heavenly home on Friday, February 18, 2022.
Life and Spiritual: Doris only received an 8th grade education, but she gained many life skills through her hands-on experiences. She enjoyed caring for her family and cooking. She was a devoted church member, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. During her life experience, she was a domestic worker for ten years. During this time she developed a close bond with the Green Family. She aided the family in raising their three children and later their grandchildren. As time went on Doris decided to take another path in life. She began working at Wamsutta Mill where she retired in the early 1990s.
A Lasting Legacy: Doris leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Alvin (Lisa) Allen, Gene (Elaine) Allen both of Anderson,SC; five grandchildren, Lamont Allen of Tampa, FL, Rogerichkus Allen, Tijuan (Kiki) Allen, Terrie Brown, Kendra Sturgeon all of Anderson, SC, and Tamara Sturgeon, Athens, GA; great-grands, Ethan Allen, Gabe Allen, Aujua Ligon, LaDariud Donaldson, Niasia Sturgeon, and Khadyous Sturgeon; one sister, Ann Tarrant; a devoted niece, Lena Osborne; a special friend, Viola Harper; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, John Lewis Dubose; four brothers, Rev. Ray Allen, James Allen, Rev. Gaston Allen, and Franklin Allen; and three sisters, Eatell Hunphrey, Ezell Clark, and Mozelle Callier.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at their respective homes.
