Don Webb Obituary

Don Kinston Webb departed this life peacefully on May 10, 2026, at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, South Carolina.

Don was born on November 21, 1962, in Newport News, Virginia, to Larry Webb and Irene E. Webb. Preceded in death by Grandparents: Peter and Helen Webb of Pendleton, SC and Clarence and Emily Edwards of Smithfield, Va, and numerous aunts and uncles. He later moved to Pendleton, South Carolina, where he attended Bethel United Methodist Church with his family.

Don was a graduate of Hephzibah High School in Hephzibah, Georgia. Don proudly entered active duty in the United States Army at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, on May 30, 1986. He faithfully served his country for more than two decades in the area of Communications Intelligence and later became an Army Recruiter at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. During his distinguished military career, he spent 7 years in foreign service assignments. Don retired honorably on August 8, 2009, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. His dedication and excellence in service earned him numerous military honors and awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal (twice), Army Commendation Medal (four times), Army Achievement Medal (seven times), Army Good Conduct Medal (seven times), National Defense Service Medal (twice), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Development Ribbon (three times), Overseas Service Ribbon (three times), and the U.S. Army Basic Recruiter Badge – Silver.

Don was known for his quiet strength, warm spirit, dedication, and love for his family. He treasured time spent with loved ones and leaves behind many cherished memories that will
forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his father, Larry Webb; his mother, Irene E. Webb of Pendleton, South Carolina; his sister, Monica L. Miller (Byron E.) of San Antonio, Texas; his daughters, Dr. Emily Marie Schwarz Lopez (Dr. Ivan Lopez) of California and Elizabeth Grace Schwarz of Reno, Nevada.

He also leaves his nieces, Crystal M. McConnell of Pendleton, South Carolina, Madison A. Thibedeaux (Mackenzie) of Missouri City; nephew, Byron T. Miller (Tonjika) of Spring, Texas; and grandnieces and grandnephews, Byron A. Miller, Miles R. Miller, and Norie H. Miller.  Don will also be lovingly remembered by his maternal aunts and uncles from Smithfield, Virginia: Two uncles James Edwards and Shirley Edwards (Beatrice), Three aunts, Marion Blount (Theron), Sylvia Edwards and Sarah Jean Edwards; along with a host of loving cousins, relatives, and dear friends.

Though he has departed from this earthly life, his love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who loved him.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment with military honors will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.  Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 until the time service.
