Obituary
Mr. Clarence Matthew Sloan was born in New York City, New York on September 18, 1948. He departed this life on February 25, 2023 at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.
Clarence was a loving person. He enjoyed being around family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He loved everyone. He was a BIG Clemson Football fan. He retired from the City of Anderson after many years of service.
He will be truly missed but not forgotten. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife/closest friend for twenty-four years, Nellie Mae Cowan; daughter, Betty Tecora Harris; son, Matthew Pickens all of Anderson, SC; three grandchildren; Niyheem Calhoun, Caiden Allen, and Ava Andrew; sister, Patricia Sloan; three brothers, Larry Sloan, Gregory Sloan, and Ronald Sloan all of Boston, Massuchesettes; two nephews, Clarence and Malik Sloan; and a host of relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Matthew and Azalee Thomas Sloan; one sister, Jerovene Sloan; and one brother, Lamont Sloan.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. Public viewing 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
The family is at the home, 309 Hampton Street, Apt. A, Anderson, SC.
