Today, we celebrate the life of Charlie C. Randolph, a beloved and adored father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was affectionately called “CC” by all who knew and loved him. He resided at 1101 Johns Avenue in Belton until his health declined and moved to Charlotte, NC to be cared for by his daughter.
Charlie was born on January 12, 1937 in Williamston, South Carolina. He was the son of the late George and Dorothy Randolph. He was the second oldest of eleven siblings. Charlie was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He was married to Fannie Simmons Randolph for 52 years until her passing in 2016. Charlie retired from Duke Energy at the Oconee Nuclear Station after 22 years of service.
Charlie enjoyed spending his days doing the things he loved most. He took great pride in growing his fruits and vegetables and could often be found selling his produce along the roadside, happily staying out from sunup to sundown. He loved to fish, hunt, and travel, and no matter where he went, he carried a warm, easygoing spirit with him. At home, his favorite place was his recliner, where he relaxed while watching TV, working on crossword puzzles, or reading the newspaper. Above all, Charlie cherished the time he spent with his beloved wife and took immense joy in being a devoted father and grandfather.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Fannie Simmons Randolph; daughter Carolyn Sullivan; parents George and Dorothy Randolph; brother Stonewall and wife Annie Ruth; brother Richard and wife Jean; brother Dr. William S. and wife Doris; sister Dorothy Menchan; one sister-in-law, Ellen Simmons; and four brothers-in-law, Baby Simmons, Feaster, Wade and Curtis Simmons.
Charlie is survived and cherished by his three children, Patrick S. Randolph, Ontario Patrice Randolph, and Charlie Stephon (Erica) Randolph; ten grandchildren, Sheena Randolph Sullivan, Charles Rayshun Sullivan, Deon Randolph, Raven Martinez, Montrae Randolph, Kendal Ivey, Charlie Stephon Randolph Jr., Devon Randolph, Alexandria Randolph, Quentin Randolph; thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Inez (Eugene) Jones, Rev. George H. (Norma) Randolph, Ida Randolph (Melvin Tucker), Betty (Larry) Gray, John (Brenda) Randolph, and Barbara (Lewis) Frederick; sisters-in-law, Eula Ann Simmons Estrich, Ella Ruth Simmons Wideman, and Frances Simmons Mance; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing Monday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
