Mr. Charles David "Pete" Williford of 109 S. Prevost Street was born on June 30, 1947. He entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2022 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Charles, better know as Mr. Pete was born and raised in Anderson, SC. He graduated from Old Westside High School in 1965. After he graduated, he joined the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a retired Veteran and Mechanic.
He married his beloved wife, the late Elizabeth Mattress Williford in 1970. They remained faithfully married for 40 years until the Lord called her home. They were blessed with 4 children.
Mr. Pete was a very loving, caring, and humble man. He was loved so much by his family and friends. He would do anything to help others. All you had to do was call because he was just a phone call away. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs. In his spare time he would be watching sports in his recliner, doing yard work, working on cars, or working on wood hardware.
Not only was Pete a family man, but he was a dedicated member of Rock Hill. He was a child of God, always praying, trusting, and keeping the faith of his Lord and Savior.
Pete, a dedicated husband, father, brother, and grandfather will be truly missed by his two daughters, Elissa Williford and Nicole (Bryan) Mack; two grandchildren; his sisters, Lenora Williford, Elaine Williford, and Lynn Williford all of Anderson, SC, Karla Thomas, Helen Thomas, and Jennie Maye all of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Ronnie (Jessie) Thomas, Major (Marion) Thomas, William (Patricia) Thomas, Danny (Tammy) Thomas, Michael (Yvonne) Thomas, Daniel Brewster, and Stanley Hunter all of Cincinnati, OH; sisters-in-law, Zula Adger and Minister Gracie Mattress; brother-in-law, Willie (Bert) Mattress; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Mattress Williford; mother, Addie Lee Williford, fathers, Rufus Williford and Major Thomas; two sons, Fredrekius Williford and Charles Williford; sister, Joyce Brewster.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Asbury Memorial Baptist Church. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The family is at the home of his sisters, Lenora, Elaine, and Lynn, 100 Simmons Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
