Carl McClean Obituary

Carl Allen McClean was born on February 15, 1999 to Lakisha Lee and Carl McClean in Brooklyn, New York, was the oldest of six children. At the age of 17 months, he was diagnosed with autism and severe asthma.  He later moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado with his family, where he graduated from Mitchell High School in 2021.  Despite these challenges, he learned sign language to help him communicate.  He also enjoyed reading magazine ads and watching music videos.

Tyrese as he was called by his family, cherished a close connection with his late grandfather, Horace Lee. They would stroll the streets of Brooklyn together and pausing at their favorite pizza joints. In Colorado, Tyrese became a familiar face in the community. His walk to the local supermarket was greeted by workers who knew him by name. He was dearly loved as a son, grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin.

On April 10, 2024, Tyrese passed away peacefully at his home in Colorado Springs, surrounded by his loving mother and siblings. He leaves behind cherished memories and is survived by his mother Lakeisha Lee, father Carl McClean, stepfather Karl Dent, brothers Karl and Kristopher Dent, and sisters Kayla, Kristen, and Krista Dent. His extended family includes aunt Marilyn Johnson (George Johnson), uncles William Lee (June Lee), Brian Lee (Monica Lee), and Christopher Lee (Rose Lee), along with numerous cousins.

Tyrese was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Horace and Willie Mae Lee and paternal grandmother Erma McLean.
