Mrs. Bobby Jean Meredith Rosemond, lovingly known as BJ was born on August 15, 1949 to the late Henry and Hattie Mayes in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She passed away on April 17, 2025 at Greer Memorial Hospital.
BJ had a loving, vibrant soul and leaves behind a legacy of joy and warmth. She was known for her deep love for the lord, family, and cooking. She loved spending quality time with her family. She was known for dropping by and just checking on you. She also found joy in taking care of others, singing, dancing and karaoke. She would often volunteer and organize events to bring family together.
BJ was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Mayes and Hattie Young Mayes; siblings, Carl Mayes, Russell 'Bo' Mayes, Sara Holley, and Billy Mayes; one child, Courtney Rosemond; and one great grandchild, Khalil Hadden.
BJ was lovingly survived by her children, Bobby Meredith, Marie Meredith, and Thomas Rosemond; grandchildren, Nashea Warren, Malica Meredith, JR Meredith, Julius Meredith, Celine Meredith. Remington Meredith, Taliyah Rosemond, and Aidan Rosemond; great grandchildren, Kree Hadden, Kamari Hadden, and Karmen Hadden; and siblings, Shirley Green, Martha White, and Ann Rice.
She will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The family will continue to celebrate the life of Bobby Jean immediately following the memorial service at McFalls Landing (1625 Broadway Lake Road, Anderson, SC 29621).
