Bobby Brownlee

Mr. Bobby Lewis Brownlee, also known as BB or Bob, was born in Abbeville County, South Carolina on August 19, 1946.  He departed his life on November 4, 2023 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Bob went to New Deal High School and was of the Baptist faith.  He worked as a construction worker for many years. Bob loved to play the guitar and harmonica.  You would often see him dancing through the neighborhood on Southside singing, "We do it in the morning, we do it at night and when we do it, we do it just right...WE DO IT!!!"

He will be truly missed by his two daughters, Sheila Lomax and Michelle Lomax both of Anderson; one son, Londas Maurice "J-Roc" Irby of Anderson; twenty grandchildren; one sister, Mary Richarson of Anderson, SC; a special nephew, Jimmy Starks; and a host of niece, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Ann Starks Brownlee and James Allen "Pete" Brownlee; his son, Bobby Brownlee; two sisters, Betty Jo Beaty and Mattie Hoover; two brothers, James Brownlee and Ernest Brownlee; and a special aunt, Rev. Shirley Johnson.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The family is at the home of his sister, Mary Richardson, 233 Meadow Hill Dr., Anderson, SC 29624.
