The Life Story of God’s Servant
Bishop Daniel Galloway was an acclaimed gospel preacher, guitarist, singer, entrepreneur, and leader whose life has left a lasting impression upon all who knew him. On March 11,2025, Daniel, better known as Bishop, while holding his wife’s hand, surrounded by loved ones near and far, peacefully answered the Savior's call and went home to be with the Lord.
Bishop’s story begins on November 30, 1944, in Pendleton, South Carolina where he was born to both the late, M.C. Galloway and District President, Pastor Lois Vandiver-Galloway. He was heavily educated throughout his life ranging from a diploma from Riverside High School, in Anderson, SC and up to the level of a doctorate degree from Manhattan Bible Institute Seminary, Manhattan, NY.
Bishop’s religious life was cultivated at a very young age of 13, preaching his first sermon. It was during this time Bishop responded to the Gospel call placing his personal trust and faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. From an early age, he displayed extraordinary musical talent, and preached God’s word throughout the country. On July 17, 1965, Bishop married the “Pearl of his World”, Minister Jannie Galloway. Over the years, you rarely saw one without the other. Through this union he was blessed with a beautiful songbird, and the light of his world, Lisa Barbour.
He relocated to New York, and it was there where he was charged with pastorship under the guidance of Bishop W.E. Fuller, Jr. of the Fire Baptized Holiness (FBH) Church of God of the Americas. Through this organization he was pastor of Trenton Tabernacle in Trenton NJ, Freehold Tabernacle FBH Church in Freehold NJ, Bacon Chapel FBH in Johnston SC, Little Zion FBH in Swansea SC, and Macedonia FBH church in Greenville SC. After faithfully serving under the FBH organization, he was led by the spirit to start out on his own. He was later consecrated as a bishop, founded and pastored the New Testament Fellowship Church in Liberty, SC and Cannon, GA. Many souls were saved and delivered under his ministry
Bishop Galloway was also the founder and CEO of several stores and restaurants: Lisa’s Deli, J&L Rib House, both in Trenton NJ, Galloway’s Construction where he remodeled and built homes, as well as churches throughout the East Coast.
Beyond his achievements, Bishop Galloway loved and was most proud to be a husband, father, grandfather, and godfather. Devoted to his family, Bishop Daniel Galloway was preceded in death by his parents, M.C. Galloway and District President, Pastor Lois Vandiver-Galloway; brothers, Marshall Clifford Galloway and John Henry Galloway; brothers-in-love, James Fortson and Frank Fortson; sister, Francis Deloris Galloway; god-grandson, Legacy Michael-Landon Smith; and numerous loved aunts and uncles.
Bishop Galloway leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Minister Jannie Galloway; daughter and son-in-love: Lisa Barbour and James Barbour of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Gabrielle Alexis Barbour, Garcelle Olivia Barbour, and Christopher James Barbour; goddaughters, Minister LaKeisha Galloway-Smith of Maryland, Cheryl Astarita of New York, Debra Scott of North Carolina, Thalaya Bryant of Florida, and Mia Lee of South Carolina; godsons, Joel Javarr Jackson of California, James Caldwell of Pennsylvania, and Redman Caldwell of Maryland; sisters, Pastor Valeria Galloway-Jackson of South Carolina and Minister Ann Graves of South Carolina; brothers, Samuel Paul Galloway (Tae) of Oklahoma, David Melvin Galloway (Linda) of South Carolina, and Fyead Galloway (Diana) of South Carolina; sisters-in-love, Mary Goring of New Jersey, Barbara Gholston of New York, and Dorothy Steeple of Georgia; brothers-in-love, Louis Fortson of Georgia and Bishop William Edward Hendrix, Sr. of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and very close friends.
Bishop’s life was a testament to his unwavering faith, love for his family, and passion for music. His legacy remains more than just preaching and accolades, but ministry for the kingdom of Jesus, which will continue to impact souls worldwide. Out of the mouth preaching one of his many sermons, we know that he has the “Victory Beyond the Walls.”
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalms 30:5
