Mr. Billy Ray Sloan was born in Anderson, South Carolina on January 23, 1959 to the late James and Lois Sloan. He was a faithful member of Hope Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina where he enjoyed weekly Bible Study and Worship Service. After years of working in manufacturing, Billy retired and worked part-time at Electric City Pizza.
He truly enjoyed watching football and spending time with his two children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, three brothers preceded him in death: James Sloan, Robert Sloan, and Walter Sloan.
On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, an angel of mercy visited the Sloan Family granting Mr. Billy Ray Sloan everlasting peace and rest with the Lord at the age of sixty-four. We celebrate his life and rejoice in God’s promise of eternity to this faithful soul that endured until the end. As we reflect upon the epitaph of this humble servant of God, our emphasis is on the quality of his life as a Christian, a husband, a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Billy leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Sharon Sloan. Daughter: Eunice (Francois) Adams-El, Son: Marcus Welborn; Three grandchildren: Nicholas R. Hunter, Nakea Welborn, and Francois D. Adams-El II. Brothers: William (Johnnie Mae) Sloan, Fred Sloan, Ronnie (Debra) Sloan, and Calvin (Tonia) Sloan. Sisters: Alice (John) Martin, Eunice Sloan, and Brenda Sloan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.
