Bennie Yvonne (Johnson) Patterson

Bennie Yvonne (Johnson) Patterson, 70, of Anderson, South Carolina passed away Friday, February 16, 2024.  Born December 11, 1953, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Ben Robert and Alice Virginia (Stowers) Johnson.

Bennie Yvonne Patterson worked most of her life in house-cleaning services at various local businesses and personal residences. Most recently, she worked for Tri-County Technical College at the Anderson Campus for many years. Most people knew her as “Ms. Bennie.”  She loved her job, but more importantly, she loved the people she worked with and the students she interacted with every day.

Surviving are her sons, Lawyer Delewis Scott, II (Ansley Jones) of Anderson, and Levonn RaShae Williams, of Pennsylvania; her sisters, Barbara Thompson (Willie), and Maxine Mance, of Anderson; and Geislar Sexton (John) of Lyman, South Carolina.  She had 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She also had two very dear and special friends, Roman and Sue Bladzik.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Cory Cornell Johnson, and her sister, Sheila Diane (Johnson) Craig, both of Anderson, South Carolina.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.
