Benjamin Franklin "Boat" Burk

Benjamin F. Burk was born on May 16, 1961 in Anderson, SC to the late Ben Jr. and Sara Burk.  He departed his life on Sunday, March 8, 2020.

Benjamin was a great father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was known as Benji or “Boat “ to his family and friends and loved by all.  Boat loved to fish and tell jokes.  He was always telling jokes at all the family gatherings.   

Benji worked for over 40 years with Mendel Stone at Stone Farms, Inc. in Westminster S.C.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Tykeria Watt; four sisters, Frankie Moore of Detroit Mich., Teresa Merritt of Anderson, Dorothy Jones, and Brenda Paul of Carthage TN.; two brothers, James and Clarence (Wanda) Burk of Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Benji was preceded in death by both his mother and father; both grandparents, Benjamin Burk, Minnie Henderson, Clarence and Eliza Montgomery; one sister, Sara Oglesby; and one brother, Roy Montgomery.

A celebration service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.

The family will be at their respective homes.
