Barbara Jean Thompson

Ms. Barbara Jean Thompson "Big Bob", departed from this life on December 23, 2024 at the age of 79. She was born in Anderson County on May 24, 1945 to the late Ban and Dessie Thompson.

Barbara was a faithful member of Mtn. View C.M.E. Church, where she was Superintendent of Sunday Schol.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her sisters, Linda (Alexander) Willingham of Starr, SC, Daisy (Clarence) Bell of Iva, SC, and Susie Thompson of the home; three brothers, Kenny Thompson of Anderson, SC, Charles (Venetha) Thompson of Anderson, SC, and Ronnie Thompson of Starr, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ban and Dessie Thompson; one sister, Wilma Williams; one brother, Calvin Thompson; and one great-nephew, Shaq.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at Mtn. View C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Iva, SC.  Public viewing will be held Saturday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
