Ms. Barbara Laray Hunter Geer was born March 4, 1969 in Anderson, SC to Ola and Bobby Hunter. She passed away on February 18, 2025 at MUSC in Charleston, SC.
Barbara graduated from T.L. Hanna High School and later earned her Bachelor's Degree from Lander University. At an early age, she joined Wilson Calvary Baptist Church. She later became a member of Tabernacle of Deliverance and Praise. "Sista B" as she was called by her TODP Church Family, was a devoted Christian and lived by the Word. She was the choir president, a children's church leader, and an usher. Her sweet smile, affectionate spirit, and caring heart will be missed deeply. Barbara lived her life to the fullest. She loved to paint, dance, and was a huge Pittsburg Steelers Fan. She also dedicated her life to helping others. She was an advocate for the homeless. She was currently employed for the Housing Authority and was a former property manager at Kennedy Place.
Barbara's smile and zest for life will be greatly missed by her two sons, Jaison Geer and Brandon Geer; her mother, Ola Mae Jackson Hunter; her grandchildren, Jada Geer, Chloe Geer, Cadence Geer, Tamir Martin, Brooklyn Geer, Kobe Jones, and Gaberila Laray Geer; one niece, Brittney Campbell; and a host of loving relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Joe Hunter and her sister, Oletha Melinda “Linda” Hunter.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Tabernacle of Deliverance and Praise. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held Saturday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
