Mrs. Barbara Nell Brawner (Lomax) was born in Anderson, SC on December 8, 1956 to Pearl Black Burriss and the late Floyd Brawner. She departed this life on January 5, 2025 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Barbara lived her life. She had a heart for helping others. She enjoyed being around her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her sons, Stancio and Travius Brawner; her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Quentin, Naomi, Zyee, and Tanavia; her mother, Pearl Burriss; sisters, Sandra Brawner, Clarissa Burriss, Pauline (Deron) Frye, Earline (Craig) Smith, Hope Brawner, and Nicole Brawner; brothers, Freddie Brawner and Eugene Burriss; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James. L. Lomax, Jr.; father, Floyd Brawner; one sister, Hannah Jackson; and three brothers, Lamont Brawner, Clarence Burriss, Jr., and Melvin Burriss.
The family will celebrate Barbara's life on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at her sister's home, Clarissa Burriss, 2010 Richmond Ave., Anderson, SC.
