On June 25, 1938, a beautiful baby girl who would be named Annie Maude was born to Ms. Josephine Nance. Annie Maude went home to her heavenly father peacefully on October 20, 2025, at home.
Annie Maude graduated from New Deal High School as an honor student. After high school, she started her career in manufacturing. She later became a chef for the Anderson County school system and Bentley’s Café. Annie Maude was great baker. She was known for her delicious pound cakes.
She joined Bethlehem United Methodist Church at an early age. Annie Maude had a beautiful voice and was a member of the church choir. She later moved her membership to Mt. Carmel C.M.E church, where she attended faithfully as long as her health permitted. She was very active in various church auxiliaries. She was very supportive helping her church whether it be financial or moral support. She was a proud member of the famous group “The Golden Girls”.
Annie Maude is survived by her children Jade Jaguar of Germany and Timothy McDowell (Angela) of Georgia, cousin/sisters, Doris Baskin of Anderson and Leathia Williams of Maryland; eleven grandchildren, Rico and Shalanda Boseman, Justice, Jasman, Avery, Alvin, Timothy Jr., Antonio and Mikal McDowell; one adoptive grandchild, Wanda Winn; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three adoptive great grandchildren, Shabreek Winn, ShaMacus Galloway and Sha'Nisjeah Winn-Galloway; loving great-great grandchildren; and many loving cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Nance; her husband, Ernest McDowell; daughters, Cynthia Boseman and Sharon McDowell; adoptive daughter, Patsy Winn; son, Sidney McDowell; grandson, Joc’Que McDowell; adoptive grandson, Damacus Winn; and two great grandsons, Ty’Dre Haliey and Ja’Kari Brown.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at King David Baptist Church. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
