Anita Riley Obituary

On Thursday, July 24th, 2025, Anita Gail (Galloway) Riley entered into eternal rest.  She was born June 20, 1970 to David M. Galloway and the late Beatrice (Jackson) Galloway.  She was baptized, raised and actively participated in Kings Chapel AME Church. She was a graduate of Pendleton High School Class of 1988, and attended Central Wesleyan College, now known as Southern Wesleyan University, where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1992. At Southern Wesleyan, she met Corey Riley, and they married on April 22, 1995. To their union were born two sons, Corey Riley, Jr. (2000) and Caleb Riley (2003).

Anita finished her professional career as a Financial Analyst Manager with Newell Brands in Atlanta.  Her first employer out of Southern Wesleyan was TIWET, moving onto Clemson University, until she and Corey moved to Atlanta in 1998. She resumed her career with Pepsico Corporation, Bayer Corporation, and Newell Brands. In her spare time, she loved to love on her family, being a part of or hosting family gatherings, traveling and just relaxing by the pool.  For sheer enjoyment and forever a student and teacher of the game, if it was basketball season, there was always a game to watch or some opportunity to impart her basketball IQ on the teams she and Corey ultimately coached together over the past 15 years as a part of the Reach Higher Kings Organization, Atlanta, GA, even after their sons graduated high school.

Anita leaves to cherish fond memories her husband, Corey Riley Sr.; two sons, Corey Jr. and Caleb Riley, all of Johns Creek, GA; her father and mom-in-love David M. (Linda) Galloway; one sister, Audra (Alonzo Jr.) Galloway Bacon of Atlanta, GA; her mother-in-law, Abbie Riley of Columbia, SC; one brother-in-law, David (Charee) Riley of Spring Hill, TN; four nieces, Olivia Bacon of Atlanta GA, Kathryn Bacon of Atlanta GA, Deanna Riley of Cleveland OH, and Madison Riley of Spring Hill, TN); two nephews, Alonzo Bacon, III of Atlanta, GA and David Riley, II of Spring Hill,TN; four grand nieces and nephews, Davvi Bacon, Atlas Downs, Legend and Halo Downs all of Atlanta GA; and and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice (Jackson) Galloway, maternal and paternal grandparents and other loving family members.

She was here and her legacy and spirit of generosity, kindness, love, and hospitality will be remembered and celebrated by everyone she touched.
