Almastine Harrison Johnson, 77, was called home the morning of December 23, 2024 in Anderson, SC. Born in Marlborough County, South Carolina on September 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late, John C. and Katie Mae Harrison. She will be remembered for her strong faith in Christ and her love and dedication to her family & friends.
She met the late Harvie Vance Johnson Sr., the love of her life, while attending Morris College in Sumter, SC. They were married over 20 years.
She is survived by her children Harvie McClintock Sr. (Karen) of Greenville, SC; Valerie Chambers (Albert) of the home; Dr. Rev. Harvie Johnson Jr. of Matthews, NC; Clarissa Wright (Chris) of Agawam, MA; and Lorraine Jones (Jeffrey) of Columbia, SC. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren Albert Chambers III, Harvie McClintock Jr, Christina Chambers, Kelsey McClintock, Danielle Johnson, Gabrielle Chambers, Harvie Johnson III, Hannah Jones, Lillian Johnson, Haylen Johnson and one great grand-baby, Bryson McClintock. She also leaves behind two sisters, Robersenia Mosley of Fayetteville, NC and Litalia McColl of Maryland.
Almastine attended Kingdom Vision Worship Center Intl. where she often shared how good the congregation was to her. She was also a faithful member of her cherished Sunday School zoom class lead by Dr. Radice W. Banks. She was a servant at heart and would always encourage others by saying, “Trust the Lord, Totally.”
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held Friday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
