Albert Groves, Jr.

Mr. Albert Groves, Jr., 84, of Johnson Street in Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Ellenburg Nursing Center.  Mr. Groves was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Jones Groves; two daughters, Julia A. Richardson and Mary E. Goodson; one son, Larry L. Groves; two sisters, Ruby Elaine Groves and JoAnn Groves; one brother, Robert Groves; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a special niece, Marie Ann Richardson; and a host of relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Beaty Groves; one son, Albert Groves III; two sisters, Fannie M. Groves and Lettie L. Jones; and three brothers, Earnest Groves, Willie C. Groves, and Larry Groves.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at St. Paul First Baptist Church.  The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
