Acie Freeman was born in Anderson, SC, February 9, 1938 to the late Acie Freeman, Sr. and Nellie Sue Leverette Freeman. He was called home on February 16, 2025 at Richard Campbell Veterans Home.
Acie was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, where he was a choir member, bible study teacher, trustee, lay speaker, and board chairman. He loved driving semi-tractor trailers. He held many positions and jobs during his lifetime. His last job was driving for Senior Solutions.
He leaves behind two daughters, Sandra (Charles) Williams and Tracy (Clarence) Kinnebrew; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alonzo Freeman, Mickey Freeman, and Michael Freeman Young; five sisters, Veronica Nesbit, Elizabeth Wilson, Sylvia Williams, Brenda Daniels, and Yvonne Saturday.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years whom he took care of until her death, Doris Ruth Moss Freeman; son, Acie Freeman III; two brothers, Rev. Dr. Bowyer Freeman and John Freeman; and two sisters, Virginia Freeman Thompson and Inez Freeman Buddin.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will be held at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Public viewing will be held Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
