Ms. Peggy Jean Thompson Wilks, 78, of 410 Brown Street, Anderson, SC passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at AnMed Health Medical Center. She was born in Anderson County to the late James and Elvira Wright Thompson.
Ms. Peggy was a member of Deep Creek United Methodist Church which later became Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she served as an usher. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Golden Age where she served as the secretary.
Ms. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Wilks, two sons, Larry Wilks and Michael Wilks, a grandson, Joseph Campbell, siblings Isabelle Jackson, James Thompson and Henry Thompson.
Ms. Peggy leaves to mourn her passing four daughters, Linda Wilks, Vicky Hill, Carolyn Wilks and Tracy (Silvanus) Brice; two sons Herman Wilks and Timothy (Sharee) Wilks; one brother Walter (Annie) Thompson and one sister Dorothy (William) Pressley, six grandchildren, Crystal Campbell, Dereco (Falisha) Hill, Thomas (Tammy) Hill, Victor (Kristen) Hill, Darius and Brandon Wilks, and eleven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home, 410 Brown Street, Anderson, SC.
