Montgolia Walker

Mr. Montgolia Walker, 84, of 4008 Dobbins Bridge Road, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Mr. Walker was a loyal and faithful member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church for over 70 years where he held many leadership positions. He retired from Ryobi (formerly the Singer Company) where he worked for 52 years. He was an avid gardener and his fresh vegetables were enjoyed by many in the community. To the delight of many friends and neighbors, he would oftentimes personally deliver his homegrown vegetables to their doorsteps.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Daisy Thompson Walker; one son, Earl Tyrone Walker (Wanda Bates); two daughters, Mary Walker Williams (Jimmy Williams) and Carmen Walker Gayton (Dr. Carver Gayton); five grandchildren, Anthony Walker, Reginal Williams, Eric Williams, Brandon Williams and Chandler Gayton; six great grandchildren, Shyqwan Williams, Rashon Williams, Shekedric Williams, Florence Williams, Gloria Williams, and Amiya Williams; two sisters, Martha Ann Hall and Mae Eunice Dixon; one brother, William "Pee-Wee" Walker; and a host of relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Montgomery and Willie Dean Jones Walker; two sisters, Bernice Webb and Zelma Jones; and four brothers, Rufus Walker, Elbert Walker, Winford Walker, and Wilson Walker.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2018 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Montgolia Walker to Mt. Pleasant UMC, 1422 Slaton Road, Townville, SC 29689.
