Mr. Jones L. Gantt, 82, of Whitner Street in Anderson, SC, passed away on December 9, 2017 at Linley Park Rehab and Healthcare.  He was born in Anderson, SC to George Gantt and Mary Lou Carter Hill.  He retired from Michelin and  was a member of King David Baptist Church.

He is survived by his four sons, Jimmy Ray (Audrey) Mattress, Raymond Joe (Martha) Mattress, Timothy Latham (Sherry) Gantt, and Darnell Junior (Donna) Gilliard; two sisters, Tiny (Frank) Mattison and Martha Ann Berry; two brothers, Lonnie Hill and James (Lula) Hill; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; in-laws, Ruby Mattress, Viola Mattress, Ernestine Mattress, Reba (Flenzy) Scott, Shirley Estrich, Lucy Mattress, Frank (Mary) Mattress, WIllie C. Mattress, Harrison (Peggy) Mattress, and Charlie Davis; and a host of relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Margaret Mattress Gantt; parents, George Gantt and Mary L. Hill; daughter, Mary Ruth Gantt; three sisters, Canary Davis, Mary Spear, and Ruth Allen; three brothers, Jack Gantt, Ruben Hill, and Paul Hill; and for brother-in-laws, Clarence Mattress, Samuel Spear, R. L. Berry, and Henry Allen.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at King David Baptist Church.  The interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home of his granddaughter, Aquessa Mattress, 375 Graham Road Anderson, SC 29625.
