Jeanette Freeman Durham

Mrs. Jeanette Freeman-Durham was born on February 15, 1950 to John Frank and Allie Gates-Freeman. She departed this life on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Jeanette graduated from McDuffie High School in 1984. She was a former employee of Anderson School District Five as a food service manager for over 28 years. She joined Holly Creek Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her warm heart and overwhelming kindness will be missed by many. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband, Jerry Durham; daughters, Sonji Freeman and Terri Durham-Mattress (Perry); grandsons, Xavier Reeves (Lisa), Mychal Reeves (Luis) and Dorian Mattress; granddaughter, Sokoya Gay; sister, Geneva Freeman-Ware and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Frank and Allie Gates-Freeman; sisters, Susie Freeman-Chancellor, Beatrice Freeman-Thomas, Alice Freeman-Hester, Carrie Freeman-Johnson; brothers, Willie Frank Freeman, John Berry Freeman, Jimmy Louis Freeman, Rufus Eugene Freeman and Connie Ray Freeman.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

The family is at the home, 221 Greenmeadow Circle Anderson, SC.
