Dennis Terrence Blackwell, 58, of Belhaven Road Extension in Belton, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Dennis was born in Hartwell, GA and retired from the United States Navy.  He was currently employed with Anderson School District Five at Nevitt Forest Elementary School.  He was a member of Charity Springs Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Glenn Blackwell; one daughter, Denise Iyawna Blackwell of Columbia, SC; four sons, Christopher Lavor Bracey of San Diego, CA, Tavarious Lenordor Glenn of Anderson, SC, Dennis Terrence Blackwell of Columbia, SC, and Bryant Keith Blackwell of Columbia, SC; step-children, Tora Johnson, Latoya Thompson, Jamell Hull, and Julian Rice all Anderson, SC; twenty-eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Janice Mallard; three brothers, Steve Blackwell, Lewis Blackwell, and Timothy Blackwell; and a host of other relatives and close friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Carl Blackwell and Barbara O. Blackwell Davis. 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran Cemetery with full military honors.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The family is at the home of his mother-in-law, Dorothy B. Glenn Chester, 1013 Fairfield Drive Anderson, SC 29621.
