Sadly, after all these years later, I came across this obituary. I just wanted you as the Family to know how much Daucus meant to me. I started as a new nurse at OMH in 1975 and Daucus took me under her wing as an LPN. She knew I was scared to death. I believe I learned more from her than any RN in the hospital and I felt she was always looking out for me. All the patients and families loved her. Many at the hospital nicknamed her “ granny”— but I always thought of her as my friend Daucus. I know I will see her again one day in Heaven. After all these years I pray you as the Family get this message. God bless you all. Daucus was very special to me. I owe her a lot for her guidance to a scared young nurse.
