Mrs. Frances Marian Gambrell Dawson, 83, formerly of Goldman Street in Clemson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Ellenburg Nursing Center.  She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Clemson, SC.  

She is survived by her daughters, Frances A. Dawson of Pendleton, SC, Maggie Lee of Pendleton, SC, Shirley Cutwright of Pendleton, SC, Mary Obialo of Houston, TX, Linda Davis of Anderson, SC, Marie Holden of Clemson, SC, and Eugenia Burriss of Anderson, SC; sons, Willie Dawson, Jr. of Clemson, SC and Millard Dawson of Houston, TX; one sister, Ruby McGee of Clemson, SC; one brother, Matthew Gambrell, Jr. of Anderson, SC; and a host of grandchildren and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Eugene Dawson, Sr.; parents, Matthew Gambrell, Sr. and Ollie Holland Gambrell; one son, Carl Dawson.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church in Clemson, SC.  The interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  The family is at the home of her daughter, Linda (Stacy) Davis, 224 William Walker Road Anderson, SC 29625.
